Welcome to a new kind of home health care experience. Your TytoHome device from TytoCare is your first line of care, bringing your family remote exams with Carilion Clinic Care providers for immediate answers at home.
ORDER AND SHIPPING
    What does this cost?
  • Some Carilion Clinic patients are eligible for a free kit. Coverage for a TytoHome visit is the same as a telehealth visit. Please check with your insurance provider for specifics related to your individual plan.
How much is shipping, and when will it arrive?
  • Your TytoHome Kit will be shipped to your door, free of charge. Your kit will typically arrive within 4-6 business days after you claim your kit.
DEVICE AND SET-UP
What kind of smartphone or tablet do I need to use TytoHome?
  • The TytoCare app works with iOS (latest two versions) and Android (4.4.4 and above). Here are the specific requirements:
    Apple device users: iOS 10 or newer; iPhone 5S, iPad Air, iPad Mini, iPod Touch 6, plus newer models
    Android device users: Android 4.4.4 or newer; Samsung Galaxy S5, S6 plus, Note 5, A7, J7 and up, LG G4 and up.
Is TytoHome FDA cleared?
  • TytoHome Stethoscope is FDA cleared and all other devices comply with FDA requirements.
What should I do when my device is delivered?
  • Set up your device and complete a Welcome Visit within 3 days. This involves unboxing the device
    and its attachments, logging into MyChart, and pairing the Tyto device with your Wi-Fi. This usually
    takes around 15 minutes.
Who can I contact with questions or for additional support?
  • For assistance with your MyChart account, please call RRH MyCare Support at 585-922-1234. For assistance with your TytoCare device, please call TytoCare Support at 540-372-0885.
Are there Wi-Fi network requirements?
  • Make sure you have an internet connection before logging in to TytoApp.
    Always connect to a Wi-Fi internet and use a location that will have a strong WiFi signal (e.g. near your router).
    For security reasons a Wi-Fi password is mandatory.
    Web connection proxy, which requires accepting network terms and conditions, is not supported.
    If you experience poor video or sound quality, make sure your internet connection meets minimum requirements.

What exams can I do with the TytoHome device?
  • TytoHome has the following exam capabilities: a camera for taking photos and videos of the skin and the throat, a thermometer for taking temperature, an otoscope for looking inside the ears, and a stethoscope for heart, lung and abdomen sounds and for capturing heart rate.
Is the TytoHome device equivalent to the tools used in office?
  • Yes, the TytoHome device is designed to replicate the exams performed during an in-office exam.
    TytoHome offers your provider high quality digital sounds of the heart and lungs, high quality digital images and video of the ears, throat and skin, and body temperature.
When should I use TytoCare’s TytoHome device?
  • TytoHome provides physical exams that capture heart, lung, ear, throat, and temperature exams.
    Make sure to set up your TytoHome device as soon as you receive it so that it is ready to use when you need it. You may need to use your TytoHome when you or a covered family member is feeling sick.
Who sees the data from my exams? Is it secure and is my information private?
  • TytoHome allows you to send exam data over an encrypted, secure network. This data is then stored on a cloud platform that complies with the privacy standards of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, also known as HIPAA. You and your healthcare provider determine who can access your medical records.
