Technical Guide: Connectivity Session & Network Optimization

This technical brief outlines the infrastructure requirements for a successful Connectivity Session. These settings must be implemented across all three endpoints: the Tyto Device, the iPad, and the Clinician Dashboard.

1. Critical Infrastructure Requirements

To ensure medical-grade video and audio, your IT team must verify the following configurations for the Device, iPad, and Clinician Workstation:

Requirement Technical Specification Endpoint
Firewall Whitelisting Allow UDP ports 10000-60000 and TCP 443 All 3
WebRTC Protocol Unrestricted STUN/TURN server access All 3
Domain Access Allow traffic for *.tytocare.com All 3

2. VPN & Split Tunneling Best Practice

If the Provider/Clinician side utilizes a VPN, routing real-time WebRTC traffic through the VPN tunnel can cause significant latency and packet loss (jitter).

IT Recommendation: Implement Split Tunneling to allow TytoCare’s WebRTC traffic to bypass the VPN and connect directly to the internet. This ensures the highest quality heart and lung sounds during live exams.

3. Pre-Session Environment Diagnostics

Please run the appropriate diagnostic test for your role to ensure network compatibility and firewall readiness:

Point of Care (POC)

For iPad and Tyto Device network checks.

Run POC Test

Provider Side

For Clinician Dashboard and Station checks.

Run Provider Test
