Warning: Low Available Memory (Code 10200)

Warning Details

Code: 10200
Type: Warning
Category: Miscellaneous
Products: qualityRTC

What is this about?

Your device currently has a very low level of freely available memory (RAM). This usually means that other open applications, background processes, or numerous browser tabs are consuming the resources needed for your communication app to function smoothly. When memory is scarce, applications “fight” for the remaining resources.

Potential Risks

While low memory isn’t always a critical failure, it often leads to a “sluggish” user experience and can severely impact medical exam quality:

  • System Throttling: To prevent a crash, the device may start moving data between the RAM and the hard drive (swapping). This causes significant delays and system-wide “freezing.”
  • Sluggish Response: You may experience long delays when switching between the TytoCare app and other tools.
  • Media Degradation: Voice and video calls require consistent memory access. Low RAM can lead to choppy audio, video lag, and even packet loss during a visit.

Suggested Actions to Take

  • Close Unnecessary Apps: Shut down high-resource programs like Photoshop, Video Editors, or heavy Excel sheets.
  • Manage Browser Tabs: Close any browser tabs that are not essential to the current session. Each open tab consumes additional RAM.
  • Restart Your Device: If memory remains low, a full restart can clear out “ghost” processes and background tasks that are hogging resources.
  • Switch Devices: If the warning persists, try moving to a device with higher RAM capacity to ensure a stable media connection.
